Due to their partnership with Pond5, Pixmac is shutting down their website and merging into Pond5 in early September 2015. As a result, Pixmac will stop accepting new uploads.
On September 31, 2015 all contributor content will be automatically moved to Pond5 and outstanding royalties will be paid by October 1, 2015. Authors can request payment before that date by logging into their accounts and filling out required details. In case there are any credits earned after October 1, 2015, these will be transfered to contributor’s account on Pond5.
Why Pond5?
Pond5 describe themselves as the “world’s most vibrant marketplace for creativity”. And in the opinion of many microstockers they are.
What distinguishes Pond5 from other Stock Agencies and Marketplaces:
- Authors are able to set their own prices for all media and receive 50% royalties for all sales;
- There are no exclusivity restrictions or subscription plans;
- Payout level is $25 – one of the lowest in the microstock industry;
- Reasons for rejection are clearly explained.
