Since our first CanStockPhoto Review in 2012, we noticed slight increase in sales in the beginning of 2017. Starting 2018, sales dropped again and now we sell 1-3 images per month.
CanStockPhoto was formed in 2004 and is still growing. Some contributors tend to place CanStockPhoto in their top 5, but it didn’t work quite well for us in the beginning. We believe that this is due to our style and type of images we submit. We had some extended license sales for more than $20, but very few images sell here. With such a low sales, it is very difficult to reach payout level in less than a few months.
CanStockPhoto website is quite friendly after they have introduced some changes and the submission process is easy via web form or FTP. Review times used to be very short, even a couple of hours if you were lucky. Now it has changed so be prepared to wait for a week before you hear back from them.
Our verdict
Stock photographers cannot ignore CanStockPhoto, but should not expect their income to grow rapidly. We would like stock photographers to share their opinions on how to succeed here.
