It is always sad news when it comes to closing of any stock agency. Only a few days ago, we were informed that Stockfresh is closing its operations on October 17, 2020, after 10 years on the market.
Created in June 2010 by original founders of Stockxpert and stock.xchng (both acquired then by Getty Images), Stockfresh was supposed to provide new approach to stock photography market and offer more than just stock photos. As a result, 7 years later, they announced their plans to create their own marketplace with a range of products such as website templates, fonts, UI element, product mockups, just to name a few.
Unfortunately, current climate and recent changes in the stock photography business left no hope for Stockfresh to continue their presence on the market.
What does it mean for me?
If you are a contributor, your work will be available for sale until October 17, unless you request to close your account early. You can also request your earnings to be paid if you reached $50. Other contributors will be able to claim the payment after the closure until November 1. From now on Stockfresh is not accepting any new submissions and will remove all images from the database on October 17.
If you are a customer, you can still buy new images with the instant download feature and use up all your remaining prepaid and subscription credits. You can also re-download the images you have already purchased. Make sure to do it before October 17, as your access to the collection will be disabled on this day.
Through all these 10 years, we really enjoyed working with Stockfresh and we wish the Team best of luck with whatever they are going to focus on in the future.
